On 11-12 October 2022, the Dept. of Food Science and Technology organized the 4th International Conferences on Food Science and Engineering (ICFSE) 2022 by online platform. This conference brought a theme of “Strengthening Sustainable Food Ecosystem through Innovation in Food Science and Engineering”.
The Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, in the opening of the event said that “Strengthening the university international networking by hosting international conferences is thought to be an effective strategy for UNS to be World Class University”. The previous ICFSE editions have been successfully held biannually from 2016 to 2020 resulting in hundreds of papers published in the partner proceeding and journal indexed by Scopus. The 4th ICFSE will involve prominent speakers from reputable including Prof. Luc Pieters (Antwerp University, Belgium), Prof. Filip van Boeckstaele (Ghent University, Belgium), Assco. Prof. Makoto Hirayam (Hiroshima University, Japan), Prof. Rajeev Bhat (Estonian University of Life Sciences, Estonia), Assoc. Prof. Senem Kamiloglu (Bursa Uludag University, Turkey), Prof. Samanhudi (Universitas Sebelas Maret, Indonesia) and Dr. Clarity Mapengo (World Food Forum). Prof. Aman Wirakartakusumah as the President Elect of IUFoST was also invited to give a keynote speech.
Dr. Dimas Muhammad, the chairman of the conference said that the 4th ICFSE is designed to facilitate the needs of academicians, researchers, policy makers, governmental and private agencies in disclosing and sharing their knowledge and experiences in addressing issues related to food science and engineering. The papers presented in this conference have opportunities to be published in the special issue of journals and proceeding indexed by Scopus, including Frontiers in Nutrition (Q1 journal), Open Agriculture (Q2 journal), Food Research (Q3 journal) and IOP Conference Proceedings.
